Scott Cohen was born in Bronx, New York in 1962. He was the son of jazz musician and a teacher, and the brother to four other children in their family. When he was little, he wanted to be a musician. Scott still plays the piano. But in college at the State University of New York at New Paltz, he changed his ideas, and took a course in clowing. He auditioned for his teachers theater company, and got in. Cohen then returned to New York and joined the Actors Studio. "For quite a while I lived on beer and Snickers bars," Cohen recalls about his earlier life. In 1989, Cohen married his wife Anastasia Traina. In 1990, Cohen went on to make his film debut in 'Jacob's Ladder,' also starring Tim Robbins. Cohen had also been acting in some plays on and off Broadway. He had been struggling to get on 'Law & Order' for seven years, until he finally got a role in the Emmy winning trilogy 'Judgement in L.A.' Cohen has then gone on in his acting career and can be seen in a Volkswagon Passat commercial, NBC's 'The 10th Kingdom,' and the upcoming show on NBC, 'Silent Witness.' Though he had thought of quitting acting a few times, many of his fans are glad he didn't. As a very talented actor, Scott Cohen has made an impression on many people with his versatile acting style in all the movies he has been in. This man truly has talent.
